AWS published Five ways to use Kiro and Amazon Q to strengthen your security posture on May 5 2026. Security teams use Kiro and Amazon Q Developer for scanning resources, drafting policies, researching CVEs, triaging AWS Security Hub findings, and remediating infrastructure code. Features include persistent context via steering files and rules plus Model Context Protocols for querying Security Hub, GuardDuty, CloudTrail, and IAM. Examples cover generating SCP JSON for MFA requirements and applying AES-256 encryption to S3 buckets. IAM Policy Autopilot as a Kiro Power was released in February 2026.
