Visa Expands Stablecoin Settlement to Five Blockchains

Visa extended its stablecoin settlement capabilities to Arc, Base, Canton, Polygon, and Tempo blockchains on May 12, 2026, following $7 billion in volume with 50% quarter-over-quarter growth. The expansion enables Visa's network of 4.4 billion cards to process USDC and other stablecoins for cross-border payments, partnering with issuers like Circle and Paxos. Technical integration uses Visa's settlement rails for real-time liquidity across 200 countries. Visa processed 278 billion transactions totaling $14.8 trillion in fiscal year 2025.
