DeepSeek recruited former Jane Street engineer Cui Tianyi in March 2026 to its new AI harness team. Cui previously spent nearly nine years at Jane Street working on equities and fixed income in New York and Hong Kong, then co-founded TSY Capital in 2022. The move supports development of software infrastructure that turns AI models into autonomous agents. DeepSeek is also publicly hiring for Harness Product Manager and R&D Engineer roles in Beijing to build DeepSeek Code Harness. Cui is a Zhejiang University computer science graduate like DeepSeek founder Liang Wenfeng.
