Red Hat Introduces Sovereign and Private Cloud Capabilities for OpenShift

Red Hat introduced new sovereign and private cloud features for Red Hat OpenShift on May 12, 2026. These features include simplified compliance profiles for the OpenShift Compliance Operator integrated with Kubernetes security and a service provisioning interface for rapid deployment of virtual machines, clusters, and AI services. Partnerships with Google Cloud, IBM, NVIDIA, Telenor, Core42, DataCom, Fujitsu, and NxtGen provide localized infrastructure for sovereign AI clouds. Red Hat Lightspeed offers on-premises telemetry for OpenShift cost management within customer-controlled environments as of May 12, 2026.
