Ride-hailing platform Bolt has entered a strategic partnership with China’s Dongfeng Motor Group to deploy an electric vehicle fleet in South Africa. The rollout managed by Yugo Rides aims to reduce drivers’ operating costs by lowering fuel expenses. Bolt secured over half of South Africa’s ride-hailing market following the $180 million investment. Bolt Technology OU and Dongfeng Motor Group Co. announced the partnership on May 16, 2026.
