Cline Open-Sources SDK for Autonomous Agent Development

Cline released @cline/sdk, an open-source TypeScript runtime powering its CLI and Kanban ecosystem on May 15, 2026. The SDK includes support for plugins, subagents, MCP connectors, checkpointing, and CRON scheduling. On Terminal Benchmark 2.0, Cline CLI achieved a 74.2% score using Claude Opus 4.7. Cline SDK's four-layer architecture extracts the internal agent harness previously embedded in the VS Code extension. Cline team extracted the core agent harness into a standalone open-source TypeScript SDK called @cline/sdk under Apache 2.0 license.
