dLocal and inDrive announced on May 5, 2026 the launch of card payments and local driver payouts in South Africa. Passengers can now pay by card in-app with real-time fare splitting and driver disbursements via PayShap domestic rails through a single integration. The partnership covers one of Africa's fastest-growing ride-hailing markets projected to nearly triple by 2033. inDrive country representative Ashif Black stated the model reduces cash exposure and fraud for drivers.
