Marc Benioff stated on the All-In podcast that Salesforce plans to spend US$300 million on Anthropic tokens in 2026, almost entirely for coding workloads. The commitment follows a hiring freeze for software engineers announced after Agentforce and other AI tools delivered more than 30% productivity gains in engineering teams. Salesforce maintains approximately 15,000 engineers who now supervise AI coding agents rather than writing every line of code themselves. Agentforce has reached US$800 million in annual recurring revenue. Benioff described agentic AI as a new labour model, new productivity model, and new economic model.
