Workato Open-Sources Seven Factors Framework for AI Agent Governance

Adam Seligman, CTO of Workato, announced on May 13, 2026, the open-sourcing of the Seven Factors framework to govern AI agents in enterprise environments. The framework outlines seven principles including reasoning layer for intent, control plane for consequences, safe retries, deterministic mutations, and recovery contracts, derived from Workato's operations serving thousands of enterprise customers. It addresses risks in agentic orchestrations by ensuring secure business system interactions. Community contributions via feedback, issues, and pull requests are invited on the GitHub repository. Workato manages agentic workflows for over 1,000 daily Otto users as of May 2026.
