SpaceX gains option to acquire Cursor for $60 billion or pay $10 billion for services

SpaceX announced in late April 2026 a deal giving it the right to acquire Cursor for $60 billion later this year. The agreement also includes a $10 billion services deal for AI coding infrastructure if the acquisition does not proceed. Cursor cofounder and CEO Michael Truell stated the partnership will scale up Composer. Cursor has about 800 employees and serves clients including Stripe, Coinbase, Discord, Salesforce, Neuralink, and Nvidia.
