Kharkiv Academic Puppet Theatre director Oksana Dmitrieva launched puppet shows in Kharkiv metro stations starting February 2022. Karpenko-Karyi Kyiv National University lecturer Mykhailo Urytskyi stages performances with students in shelters and metro stations. Kherson Puppet Theatre toured occupied areas on a bus with national flag after March 2022 occupation. Ukrainian puppet theatres continue vertep interpretations of war events in 2026.
