Pinecone Launches First Serverless Region in Asia with New Singapore Cloud Region

Pinecone launched its first serverless region in Asia on AWS Asia Pacific (ap-southeast-1) in Singapore on May 15, 2026. The new region supports low-latency AI workloads and local data residency for organizations in Southeast Asia, Australia, and the broader Asia-Pacific. Pinecone simultaneously introduced Pinecone Nexus as a knowledge engine for AI agents, KnowQL as a declarative query language, the Pinecone Marketplace with over 90 production-ready knowledge applications, a new Builder tier at $20 per month, native full-text search in public preview, and Dedicated Read Nodes delivering 77-97% cost reduction at scale. Pinecone CEO Ash Ashutosh stated that the launches deliver comprehensive knowledge infrastructure for AI at a scale and price point that removes every barrier to building. The infrastructure now serves more than 9,000 customers worldwide.
