Anthropic Hires OpenAI Co-Founder Andrej Karpathy for Pre-Training Role

Andrej Karpathy joined Anthropic on May 19, 2026, to work on the pre-training team responsible for Claude's core capabilities. He will focus on using Claude to accelerate pretraining research and build a dedicated team.
