Chromie Health raised $2 million in pre-seed funding led by AIX Ventures on May 14, 2026. CEO and co-founder Douglas Ford launched the Chromie Dispatch SMS AI-powered nurse staffing agent that fills gaps 60 times quicker than manual methods and has covered more than 35,000 shifts. The agent uses a proprietary ranking algorithm for qualified nurses via SMS responses with no IT integration or patient data required. Krish Ramadurai of AIX Ventures participated in the funding, and 750 hospitals joined the waitlist while St. Joseph's Hospital achieved 25 percent overtime reduction.
