Airwallex Announces Global Economic Advisory Council with Four Inaugural Members

Airwallex co-founder and CEO Jack Zhang announced the formation of the Global Economic Advisory Council on May 12, 2026. The council includes former Australian Treasurer Josh Frydenberg, former U.S. Senator Roy Blunt, former JPMorgan Chase General Counsel Stephen Cutler, and former U.S. Deputy Presidential Envoy Morgan Ortagus. Airwallex committed $1 billion to scaling its U.S. presence over the next three years while serving 46,000 U.S. customers. Airwallex has raised over $900 million in total funding to date from investors including Square Peg, Salesforce Ventures, Sequoia Capital China, Lone Pine Capital, Hermitage Capital, 1835i Ventures and Tencent.
