Ranger Finance Co-Founder Barrett Williams Confirms Wind Down and Personal Exit

Ranger Finance co-founder Barrett Williams posted on May 15, 2026 that Ranger Finance is winding down and he will move on from the project. The Solana DeFi protocol faced declining cash reserves after its January 2026 $8 million MetaDAO raise and a subsequent treasury liquidation of more than $5 million USDC. The April 2026 Drift exploit worsened the situation by depleting additional capital. Williams noted that Ranger had expanded beyond sustainable financial support. Vault users affected by Drift will receive recovery tokens from the Drift team.
