Microsoft Discontinues New Azure Reserved VM Instances for Select Series Starting July 1, 2026

Microsoft announced on May 15, 2026 that new purchases and renewals of Azure Reserved Virtual Machine Instances for select VM series will end on July 1, 2026. The change aligns with broader Windows 365 Business pricing updates including a 20 percent list price decrease. Existing Reserved VM Instances remain protected until their current terms expire. The AZ-500 certification retires on August 31, 2026 with transition to SC-500.
