The Department of Justice secured a $30 million settlement with PayPal on May 15, 2026 after the company created a discriminatory investment program favoring Black and minority-owned businesses. PayPal must now waive $1 billion in processing fees valued at $30 million for veteran-owned businesses or those in farming, manufacturing and technology. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche stated the settlement advances President Trump’s effort to eliminate illegal DEI practices. The original 2020 program involved a $530 million commitment.
