Red Clay Board of Education Approves Hiring Policy Changes for Administrators
Share the canonical public link.
Red Clay Consolidated School District board approved a policy change on May 19, 2026, allowing the superintendent greater flexibility in hiring new administrators. The prior process required a committee of teachers, parapros, and staff to interview candidates and forward three finalists for superintendent interviews. Under the new rules, the superintendent can hire from the list, repost the position, or appoint another candidate directly. The unanimous vote followed debate involving board member Devon Hynson and district administrators over policymaking processes.
