Global Payments Research Shows 80% of Customers Would Change Habits with Easier Ordering

Global Payments Inc. released research on May 14, 2026 from a March 2026 survey of 2,000 U.S. consumers. The study found 80% of customers would change habits if ordering was easier, with 45% saying they would try new menu items and 17% spending more overall. Chris Siefken, president of restaurant POS at Global Payments, said the findings highlight opportunities for technology like Genius to reduce stress and unlock higher ticket averages. The survey also showed 29% find QSR ordering more stressful than public speaking and 37% have abandoned orders due to rushed processes.
