Apple absorbed the founding team of WhyLabs, the Seattle startup it acquired in a secretive 2025 deal. Alessya Visnjic, former WhyLabs CEO, serves as an engineering leader at Apple. Other WhyLabs founders including Andy Dang and Sam Gracie now hold AI-related roles at Apple per LinkedIn profiles. WhyLabs previously raised $14M in funding from Madrona, Defy Partners, and AI Fund. The acquisition added to Apple’s list of Seattle tech startup purchases.
