Poolside launched the free Laguna XS.2 open model for local agentic coding on April 28, 2026. The 33B parameter model with 3B active parameters runs on NVIDIA DGX Spark via vLLM, SGLang, and Ollama, with TRT-LLM support incoming. Poolside built Laguna XS.2 alongside the larger Laguna M.1 (225B parameters, 23B active) using RLCEF training for software engineering tasks. Baseten powered the April 27, 2026 production launch in 7 weeks with a whitelabeled OpenAI-compatible API, KV cache routing, and secure key federation. Poolside founder Jason Warner previously raised $626 million total with a $3 billion valuation in the October 2024 Series B.
