GitHub switches Copilot individual plans to flex token billing model effective June 1

GitHub updates Copilot billing for individual developers to a flex model starting June 1 2026. Pro plan includes 1000 Base Credits plus 500 Flex Credits for 1500 total AI Credits monthly. Pro+ plan includes 3900 Base Credits plus 3100 Flex Credits for 7000 total AI Credits monthly. A new Max plan at $100 per month offers 10000 Base Credits and matching Flex allotment. Annual subscribers retain prior request-based pricing until contract expiration.
