Weaviate released version 1.37 on April 23, 2026, adding Maximum Marginal Relevance as a preview feature for query-time reranking. The company introduced a Diversity.MMR parameter with limit and balance settings that penalizes near-duplicate results in near_vector and other queries. MMR applies across all near_* queries without requiring schema changes or reindexing. Weaviate 1.37 also shipped extensible tokenizers with accent folding and per-property stopwords. The release included incremental backups and Gemini audio support in the multi2vec-google module.
