Elasticsearch Labs published details on May 19, 2026 about NVIDIA cuVS enabling up to 12x faster vector indexing in Elasticsearch 9.3+ Enterprise via GPU-accelerated HNSW graph builds. Pattern B uses three 64 GB GPU ingest nodes with ILM handoff to seven 192 GB CPU serving nodes for a 300M-vector corpus while Pattern A suits clusters under five data nodes. The update requires NVIDIA Ampere or newer GPUs and CUDA 12.x and builds on the existing Elastic-NVIDIA partnership for enterprise AI search on one platform.
