Databricks for Good partnered with the Virtue Foundation on May 20, 2026 to build an AI platform connecting medical volunteers to opportunities in 72 low and low-middle income countries. The platform uses Databricks Lakeflow Jobs, Photon, Model Serving, Vector Search and Genie plus OpenAI GPT models to aggregate data from thousands of healthcare facilities and process over 25 million web pages. It has delivered care to over 50,000 patients with a 15x performance improvement via Photon reducing worst-case partition time from 30 minutes to 2 minutes. The VF Agent prototype employs a multi-agent architecture for natural language analysis of volunteer matching.
