Cisco CEO Chuck Robbins Calls for Networking Supercycle Driven by AI Demand

Cisco Chair and CEO Chuck Robbins stated on May 14, 2026, that skyrocketing demand for artificial intelligence tools and equipment is powering the industry toward a networking supercycle. The comments came during discussion of the company's quarterly earnings results and Silicon One strategy alongside the restructuring plan. Cisco stock rose more than 14% on the day of the earnings release reaching the 21st-largest U.S. company by market cap. Robbins noted very strong broad-based demand for the company's products in the latest quarter. The company booked $5.3 billion in AI infrastructure orders from hyperscalers this fiscal year with projections for at least $6 billion in fiscal 2027.
