Deep Vellum Partners with Texas Book Festival to Launch Burro Libro Press

Deep Vellum announced a partnership with Texas Book Festival, Letterpress PLAY, and the Tejemos Foundation on May 14, 2026. The collaboration launches Burro Libro Press, a new imprint for debut literary fiction by emerging writers with strong ties to Texas. Marianne DeLeón, CEO of Texas Book Festival, stated the imprint creates pathways for emerging writers. The partnership builds on an existing relationship with Texas Book Festival COO Dalia Azim.
