OVHcloud launched its first Asia Pacific Local Zone in Auckland, New Zealand on May 18 2026 through a partnership with Datacentre220. The Local Zone model extends OVHcloud's edge infrastructure for low-latency sovereign cloud access and market testing before larger datacenter commitments. Terry Maiolo, VP and GM of APAC at OVHcloud, noted Auckland's suitability for high performance and the company's existing three datacenters in Sydney. Ross Delaney, CEO of Datacentre220, described the site as a connectivity hub amid New Zealand's push for digital sovereignty. OVHcloud maintains ring-fenced U.S. operations with customer service handled from its India facility.
