Vinay Perneti, VP of Engineering at Augment Code, and Chris Kelly, Product Lead for Cosmos, announced the public preview of Augment Cosmos on May 4, 2026. Cosmos serves as an operating system for agentic software development with agents running in user environments or Augment cloud, shared context and memory across teams, self-improving loops via feedback, and multi-model support by default. The platform coordinates agents across the full SDLC, reduces interruptions from eight per cycle to three checkpoints, and targets MAX plan users initially. Cosmos entered public preview on May 4, 2026 for MAX plan users; prior individual agent adoption had not scaled to organizational productivity gains at Augment Code customers.
