CockroachDB Brings Distributed SQL to IBM Power and IBM Cloud

Cockroach Labs announced on May 14, 2026 that CockroachDB will be available in the IBM Cloud catalog and supported on IBM Power processor-based server systems. Enterprises gain a direct path to adopt distributed SQL within IBM’s ecosystem while preserving investments in IBM Power infrastructure. The announcement builds on prior collaboration between Cockroach Labs and IBM for hybrid cloud deployments. Allen Terleto, VP Global Partners and Ecosystem at Cockroach Labs, highlighted support for agentic-scale distributed applications without legacy architecture constraints.
