DRIFT Energy founder and CEO Ben Medland announced receipt of the first Approval in Principle from RINA for an energy-harvesting green hydrogen ship. The award covers the ship's innovative design that captures wind and solar energy at sea to produce green hydrogen. RINA granted the AiP on May 20, 2026, following technical review of the vessel's energy systems. Ben Medland stated the ships will play a pivotal role in the global energy transition.
