Dynatrace acquired Bindplane on May 18, 2026. The acquisition concluded an 18-year journey that began in 2007 when the company was co-founded as Blue Medora in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with Atomic Object before pivoting to observIQ and then Bindplane around the OpenTelemetry standard. Bindplane contributed to the OpenTelemetry project including the Stanza donation in 2020 and OpAMP co-design along with more than 40 integrations. Dynatrace acquired Bindplane to extend its platform upstream into the telemetry stack before data reaches the analytics engine.
