GitHub Copilot shifts to usage-based billing with AI credits from June 1 2026

GitHub Copilot moves from Premium Request Units to token-based usage billing measured in GitHub AI Credits starting June 1 2026. Copilot Business seats cost $19 per user per month and include $19 in monthly AI credits while Enterprise seats cost $39 per user per month and include $39 in monthly AI credits. June through August 2026 include higher credits of $30 for Business and $70 for Enterprise. Code completions and Next Edit suggestions do not consume credits but Copilot Chat, CLI, and agents do.
