PayPal Reorganizes into Three Units with Braintree in Payment Services Division

PayPal Holdings announced a strategic reorganization on April 29, 2026 into three business units including Checkout Solutions & PayPal, Consumer Financial Services & Venmo, and Payment Services & Crypto. Jeff Pomeroy was appointed interim lead of the Payment Services & Crypto unit that unifies Braintree, SMB processing, value-added services, and crypto including PYUSD. The move follows leadership changes with Enrique Lores taking over as CEO in March 2026 from Alex Chriss. Frank Keller became President of Checkout Solutions & PayPal while Alexis Sowa took interim lead of Consumer Financial Services & Venmo. Diego Scotti and Michelle Gill departed as part of the executive shifts.
