Eni International Acquires 11.6 Percent Stake in Nouveau Monde Graphite

Eni International B.V. purchased 38,043,478 common shares of Nouveau Monde Graphite Inc. on May 15, 2026 for approximately US$70 million giving it a 11.6 percent stake in the company with 329,114,330 shares outstanding. The investment includes board nomination rights for up to two directors, observer rights, pre-emptive rights and a lock-up until May 15, 2027 with standstill until May 15, 2028. The transaction forms part of a larger private placement supporting development of the Matawinie Mine and Bécancour Battery Material Plant. Eni seeks to secure exclusive supply agreements for graphite and active anode material as part of its strategy to enter the critical minerals value chain.
