HS2 Ltd secures four-year funding settlement to complete the railway using methodology from the Elizabeth Line. Last year HS2 Ltd completed six major milestones ahead of schedule including all tunnelling between Old Oak Common and Birmingham Curzon Street plus 80 percent of major structures and 70 percent of major earthworks. HS2 Ltd employs 31,000 people on the project. HS2 Ltd drives a £20bn economic boost to areas surrounding major stations in the West Midlands and west London over the next ten years. HS2 Ltd plans 41,000 new homes and 30,835 jobs in the West Midlands.
