Exa Selects Zilliz Cloud for Entity Search Infrastructure in AI Agents

Zilliz announced that Exa selected Zilliz Cloud as the retrieval infrastructure for its entity search engine targeting companies, people, and code. Exa evaluated major vector databases and chose Zilliz Cloud for its native hybrid search combining dense vectors, sparse BM25, and RRF reranking plus metadata filtering at billion-vector scale. Post-adoption metrics include latency reduced to under 200 milliseconds from seconds, zero-downtime schema evolution, and reduced DevOps overhead allowing faster shipping of new search verticals. Exa co-founder Jeffrey Wang stated Zilliz Cloud provided the retrieval performance and operational simplicity needed to scale the entity search product quickly and confidently.
