The railway in Anglia reached a major milestone on May 14, 2026, with a new unified leadership team now in place to bring together c2c, Greater Anglia, and Network Rail Anglia. This structure aligns track and train operations in the East of England and supports the establishment of Great British Railways under public ownership. Managing Director Jamie Burles noted that the integration builds on existing success to deliver better coordination, reliability, and a consistent experience for customers. Rail Minister Lord Hendy stated that the move demonstrates how public ownership transforms railways by ending fragmentation and prioritizing passengers and freight.
