PagerDuty Report Reveals Some Organizations Lose More than $1 Million Per Hour During Unplanned Disruptions

PagerDuty released its 2026 State of AI-First Operations report on March 17, 2026. The survey of 1,000 business leaders found 8% of organizations lose more than $1 million per hour during IT incidents. 59% of organizations actively incorporate AI into digital operations, with AI adopters reporting 75% improvements in operational resilience. 77% of organizations plan to increase resilience budgets over the next 12 months. Wakefield Research conducted the survey across the United States, Japan, United Kingdom, and other regions.
