Amazon Q Developer Ends New Signups May 15 2026 Shifts to Kiro

Amazon announced the end of support for Amazon Q Developer IDE plugins and paid subscriptions on April 30 2027. New signups for Q Developer Free Tier accounts and new Pro subscriptions were blocked starting May 15 2026 while existing subscriptions can continue adding users until the deadline. Starting May 29 2026 Opus 4.6 will no longer be available on Q Developer Pro and the latest models including Opus 4.7 are available exclusively on Kiro. AWS offers a 12-month transition period to Kiro with existing Q Developer Pro subscriptions retaining access until April 30 2027.
