Vast.ai Releases May 2026 Product Update with Benchmarking CLI and 2FA Authenticator App Support

Vast.ai published its May 2026 product update on May 12, 2026. The update added a benchmarking CLI tool that tests workloads on H100s, A100s, 5090s, 4090s or user-defined GPUs in parallel with automatic instance rental, performance-per-dollar reporting and teardown. It introduced All-in-One App Studio template with eight creative AI applications including image generation, video, music, voice, transcription, LoRA training and LLM fine-tuning plus GPU-accelerated remote desktop with KDE Plasma and Blender. Vast.ai added authenticator app support for 2FA using TOTP apps like Google Authenticator instead of SMS along with CLI 2FA support, automatic backup codes and multiple authentication methods per account. Vast.ai resolved the CopyFail exploit with fleet-wide mitigations and updated the Vast pip package with merged SDK and CLI repositories.
