Gem released its sixth annual Recruiting Benchmarks Report in December 2025 covering data from June 2021 through May 2025. The report analyzes 165 million applications, 15 million candidates, and 1.2 million hires across industries and company sizes. Key metrics include recruiters managing 14 open requisitions on average, a 33% rise in interviews per hire, and technical roles averaging 35-36 interviews with 26 interviewer hours. Gem's own 2026 Recruiting Benchmarks Report found direct outbound sourcing produces 11% of hires from just 2.6% of applications, a 4x yield over inbound channels.
