DigitalOcean made request-based autoscaling generally available for App Platform service components on May 20, 2026, allowing scaling based on HTTP traffic metrics such as requests per second or P95 request duration. The feature works alongside or instead of CPU-based autoscaling and supports both shared and dedicated CPU plans. Users configure it via the Control Panel, API, or doctl. DigitalOcean previously introduced CPU-based autoscaling in 2024 and added request-based preview in April 2026.
