Ride-hailing firm Bolt announced a 6 per cent fare increase in Kenya on May 12, 2026 to ease pressure on drivers facing rising fuel costs. The adjustment follows EPRA’s April review that capped petrol in Nairobi at KSh 197.60 per litre and diesel at KSh 196.63. Bolt said the 6 per cent increase would still keep Bolt among the most competitively priced ride-hailing platforms in the market. Drivers have pushed for bigger changes including a minimum fare of KSh 450 for trips under 3 km.
