AWS Denies Second AI Outage Involving Amazon Q Developer After FT Report

Docker Developer Advocate Ajeet Singh Raina detailed an AI coding agent outage on May 18, 2026. The Financial Times reported on February 20, 2026 that a second AI-related outage involving Amazon Q Developer had hit a different system from the mid-December 2025 Kiro outage. Amazon issued a blog response the same day stating the disruption was an extremely limited event from a misconfigured role and a coincidence that AI tools were involved. Amazon also flatly denied the second outage existed while noting the same issue could occur with any developer tool.
