Pinecone Launches Nexus Knowledge Engine for AI Agents

Pinecone introduced Pinecone Nexus, a knowledge engine for AI agents, on May 4, 2026. Nexus uses compiled knowledge artifacts and KnowQL declarative query language with primitives for intent, filter, provenance, output shape, confidence, and budget. Early access opened for design partners to co-design the system. The launch coincided with Pinecone Marketplace offering over 90 production-ready knowledge applications and native full-text search integration. Pinecone benchmarks showed agents using Nexus achieving higher task completion rates than prior RAG setups.
