Letta AI Announces Letta Code App Launch for Local Personalized Agents

Letta AI launched the Letta Code app on April 6, 2026 as a new way to interact with deeply personalized agents that learn over time and work locally on a user's machine. Agents support initialization via /init from existing code or past sessions from Claude Code or Codex, memory subagents for reviewing sessions, and /doctor for reorganizing memories. The app decouples agent memory from model providers allowing switches mid-session while retaining context and supports skills installation via links. Downloads are available for macOS Apple Silicon, Windows x64, and Linux AppImage.
