Former Adyen Exec Jan-Pieter Lips Joins UK’s DNA Payments as CEO

DNA Payments named former Adyen executive Jan-Pieter Lips as its new chief executive officer on January 25, 2024. Lips previously served as head of unified commerce at Adyen, where he was responsible for creating and operating omnichannel verticals that facilitate 23% of Adyen’s total payments volume during his nearly five-year tenure. DNA Payments co-founders Arif Babayev and Nurlan Zhagiparov stated that Lips’ appointment enables them to focus on other initiatives, with Babayev handling mergers and acquisitions, partnerships, strategy, and expansion. Lips commented that the firm is experiencing huge growth and that companies it serves have an increasing appetite for greater market agility and new innovations across commerce and payments. Lips has been tasked with leading DNA Payments' next period of growth and extending its cloud-based omnichannel payment processing service to fast-growing vertical market sectors such as restaurants and specialist retailers in the UK and across Europ
