Otto Aerospace completed the preliminary design review for its Phantom 3500 business jet in late February 2026 at its Jacksonville, Florida facility. The review advanced the clean-sheet composite program from conceptual design into detailed design, engineering release and production planning with composites confirmed from Re:Build for control surfaces and Leonardo for the all-composite airframe. Otto Aerospace president and CEO Scott Drennan stated the milestone marks the transition to building and flying the aircraft. The program now focuses on hardware fabrication and assembly ahead of the first flight of Flight Test Vehicle 1 in 2027.
